I had a miracle happen between me and my neighbor in seven days. Here is what happened.....

The Situation –
An old wooden fence runs about 100 feet between our house and our neighbor's house. It is inhabited by wood eating insects known as termites. In addition to the fence, the termites are putting holes in our floors.  One day, I decided the source of the termites needed to be removed.

Unfortunately, we do not know our neighbors.  Our paths never cross. So I sent them a letter of intent. We were willing to take down the termite infected fence at our expense, but not willing to replace it.  Since they did not respond, I began the task of having the fence removed.

Two weeks ago, while the workman we hired was whacking away at the fence, the neighbor emerges and tells him to STOP.  Opps!  Guess they are not in agreement.  Well, now what?  A few days later, I hear children’s voices getting louder and louder. I look out the window and sure enough here they come through an open place where the fence has been taken down.  I run outside and smack into the neighbor grabbing her children and yelling, “See, this is why a fence needs to be here.  You can take it down but you have to put something else up because of the children.”

No, no, no, no!  I do not want to build a fence I do not need.  We have no dogs, no children and no need for a fence! I call our neighborhood homeowner's association where I live and was told that fences between neighbors is considered co-ownership and their removal or construction needs to be negotiated. Hmmm, I wonder if negotiation is possible with these strangers who live next door.

What I Did -
Now it just happens that I am reading a book called, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.  He cites case after case of ways to manifest what you want.  So I try one of them. Everytime my mind wanders to the termite fence, I sing this little jingle I made up: “Ding, dong, the fence is down. The termite fence is down, down, down. Ding, dong, the termite fence is down!”

The Outcome -
Seven days after I begin singing and visualizing the fence is down, my phone rings. It is the neighbor. “Go ahead and take down the fence,” she says.  What!  Did I hear her right?  Did she just do a 180 turnaround on me?  Wow!  The jingle worked!  And it worked like magic.

If it works on getting a neighbor to change their mind, what other miracles might it accomplish— healing a disease, reversing depression, ending the war in the Middle East?  The possibilities are endless!  Today I am very grateful for my miracle.
